2001 Vauxhall Astra LS DTI - excellent condition

Post by tomosllyr on Thu 29 Oct 2009, 01:46

Up for sale is my 2001 (51 plate) Vauxhall Astra LS 1.7DTI. The car is in pearlescent green, it also comes with 15" alloys that has very good tyres on them; the front ones are quite new and has only covered a couple of thousand miles. The mileage on the car is 101,834 which is average for year. It has service history up to around 90k miles. Cambelt was done around 80k. Also there is a valid M.O.T on this car until 12th of January 2010, but no tax. This car is in very good condition for year, but as expected there are a few scratches on the body work, but nothing major. I`ve patched up the paintwork on the bonnet due to a stone chip (see picture), the patch is only the size of a pound coin. The alternator was replaced around a year ago, apparently these are common faults on this model, otherwise it has given me no problems what so ever, the engine runs very smooth. I think it's worth mentioning that the 1.7DTI is an Izuzu engine, and so is more reliable than Vauxhall's own diesels. It has upgrade bulbs in the headlamps, and I`ve fitted a de-badged grill . . . which I think makes it look nice. The interior is very very clean, no rips or tears in the seats, I will point out that on the handbrake handle there is chewing marks, this was done by a very young dog by the previous owner. Also, there is slight wear to the gear stick, but keep in mind that it is nearly 8 years old. All in all, it is in a very good condition!!! You may notice from photos that rear wiper arm is missing, but this has since been sorted.

I have owned this car for just over two years. It`s a nice car to drive, very sturdy on the road, and is very, very economical - on a full tank of diesel I am able to achieve around 520 miles, which works out at around 50+mpg!!! It is in insurance group 5, so fairly cheap to insure, and the tax is reasonable for a 1.7litre car. (around 66 for 6 months or 120 for 12 months). This is an ideal car for someone who looks for a cheap car to run!!!!!

The only reason for selling is that I`ve just bought a bigger car, and cannot afford to run two cars, and there is no room to keep it at home!!I would be looking at 1695 o.n.o for the car!!
I`ve been as honest as possible describing the car, but if you have any questions, would like to arrange a viewing or would like more photos do not hesitate to e-mail me at lolbotas@msn.com. Thank You.
