Service parts
Im putting a gti6 engine in and will make sure the engine is all serviced up before it goes in.
So far i have.
New genuine peugeot timing belt kit
New genuine peugeot water pump
New valeo clutch kit
New auxillary belt
New bosch super 4 spark plugs
New throttle cable kit (ordered from gsf today)
Will be putting new gearbox oil, engine oil, oil filter on aswell.
Is there anything anyone would replace in the process apart from whats ive mention already.
Im going to be painting the rocker covers should i replace the gaskets on these when i remove them as there only about £4 each from gsf but, how do these fit on?

Re: Service parts
When i did mine i got told to buy a manifold gasket and injector seals but that might have just been for the diesel. I personally would replace anything that would take a long time to do when its in the engine, even if it doesnt really need doing just so you know that its definatly not going to need doing for a long time

Re: Service parts
Check to see what your idler pulley is like on the aux belt, squeal something awfull when the bearing goes, its a tad awkward to change when the engine is in,especially if you've got stranglers hands.
part no 575134 (roller) £25.09

thats the 1 i said about yesterday mike, mine is a pain when it rains cos i aint got the arch liners in at the front so go through a puddle and the belt sqeels but mine is moving ok, that engine hasnt had an aux belt on it for almost 4 years so just go with a new 1, i'd also replace the downpipe doughnut (think i got a spare fitting kit with all the bolts) also an inlet gasket cos your taking that off to paint it and the block, depending then on how far your going with the painting up maybe a thermostat housing gasket etc etc etc
