Re: help please!!!
only problem a std 106 gti has 130bhp per tonne yours is 160bhp per tonne your gonna want to start tuning right away to get the same as what you got now
although the 106 gti engine does deliver the power a lot better than the ew

Re: help please!!!
id go 205 with a gti6 engine and you'll have 180+ bhp per tonne with a std engine, you need to aim to get as high a bhp per tonne using a standard engine that way mpg is still good reliability is still good
205 is about 900kg but with a heavier 306 engine but stripped could be 800-850kg with a gti6 engine with a de-cat (wouldnt need a cat on ryans 205 for mot) induction kit would see about 175-180bhp depending how much work the engine had done so could be 228 bhp per tonne with a std engine

Will get the vids up later, they're all in raw camera format at the moment so absolutelly huge. Personally i'd suggest getting a stock one, sure it might not have the power per ton of your current motor, but the handling and power delivery is quite alot different and even a stock GTi is going to leave a huge grin on your face

yeah straight line would be the 206 but on track the 106 is so good many things struggle with it i think you need to go drive a few and see what you think
Re: help please!!!
well i dont like the 205 to be honest i see where your cumming from with the power to weight ratio i want some thing i can make look good and be a track slag for shows like
Re: help please!!!
106-306 then you got decide on engine if you want a 2.0 (xu) go for a gti-6 you can pick them up for around 1k now
Re: help please!!!
only thing that worries me about a 106 is the lack of protection, im just glad when i was hit i was in my 306 not my 106
Re: help please!!!
i know 106 = tin shell = squashed matt not very good. tol cage would be fitted obviously
Re: help please!!!
Right being from bridgend and being the odd one out with a gti6 all the boys have either a saxo or 106!
either being a turbo vtr or a cammed vts/gti, and i must say they fooking fly!
most of them are running around 145-155bhp!
for example there a s1 106 with gti lump with just brether mods(ie manifold, exhaust, filter!)
he pulled just shy of 150bhp on the rollers lat month, and it a car that is striped out and weights about 700kg is mad!
he annoyed a 300+bhp evo on the way to the rolling road!
BUT like said it not all about top end speed and you need to decide what car you want to build weather it be a track car or just balls out bhp figure so you can brag down the pub!
the 106 are amazing on track and after being in a 306 to a 106 id say they handle alott better!
that yellow gti i think was built by carworx if its the same one!
i have heard good and bad things about them!
but in a nut shell if its a french track toy you want 106 is the way forwad and yes you could pick a cheap gti up and mod it for less i may know of a s1 for sale soon!

Re: help please!!!
fair enough the s2 are heavier so you will just have to get extra power lol!
theres loads out there thougha nd tuning the engine with a nice set of 708's and a mapp will see a healthy 150+ and decent torque!

Re: help please!!!
id go for the the rallye, indigo blue is my favorite colour and i love the flocked dash. gives it the real rally look.
but if you want the power then the gti looks the best bet even thou its a fair bit more expensive, but taking into account the work that's been done to it it doesn't seem too bad
