306 xsi Phase 1

Picked this up today, the owner couldn't find the V5 and thinks he may have sent it off as scrap

It will be a shame if i have to break this it is really tidy 1 owner from new (so he says) and clocks show 86k, not a mark on the interior and is like the day it left the dealer

Reason its so green it has stood for 5 years

good clean will look smart then

Yeah i'm so eager to get it looked mint but dont know if there will be any point

There is an immobiliser on it which wont turn off and i'm reluctant t spent time getting the engine running if i cant get a V5

Spare track shell, if you have no V5?

Does look like it just needs a damn good clean. Interior and engine bay look darn good!

IIRC You can get a replacement V5 even if the car has been declared scrapped You just need to reapply with the dvla

If i get no joy with the owner i'll ring up and see if i can get it

DVLA will charge £25 for a new log book, u can print the forms off they're web site, should be easy enough to get th V5. I bought a D-turbo last night in the same colour

Just checked on the dvla website and the details show up, also tried putting in reg details for cars i've scrapped and it just says details not available

So look promising

I tried that 2, i scrapped a car in 2004 and it's still on the system.

what do these XSI'S go like? I've never been in 1.

I remember having 1 years ago, sold a 309 gti to buy it and didnt get on with it as the 309 was much quicker, but in the xsi's defence the 309 was played with and making 166bhp (had a print out from moseleys llandiloe so not sure how true that was)

306 xsi phase 1 2.0 8v is 121bhp

if you do end up breaking it let me know il have alot of bits off her whole frount end few other bits

Spent a few hours on this yesterday, i pulled the immobiliser out and re-wired the dash (as i cant be arsed with the little tab thing) new battery and 2 new key fob batteries and it started and run fine after 5 years of being stood so i gave it a quick clean

Big update v5 arrived yesterday so booked it in for mot this afternoon and it flew through
