Re: New GTI6
306 owners all know that 3-4 306s are always best there is a possabillity that at least 1 is in working condition

Re: New GTI6
will be fitting a few bits off the xsi such as the quickshift and the wind deflectors and throwing my phase 1 interior in it, not sure if i'll do anything else as I've got hte other one to work on but i'm sure it'll probably end up with something
Re: New GTI6
yep

Re: New GTI6
woop woop, dad picked it up tonight for me
only problem, clutch is stiff as anything, any suggestions?

Re: New GTI6
Cable will need replacing, there is a self adjuster on the line which is expertly located below the exhaust manifold causing it to seize (from heat) and make the pedal feel really hard
Re: New GTI6
hmm, k it's had a reciept for a new cable in the last couple of months. Any thing else it could be?
Re: New GTI6
if it has been done and still stiff hopefully its not the clutch itself, other ideas could be thrust stuck on shaft (mikes china xs did this totally shattered the clutch) or nylon guides on the clutch arm slipped cos of a broken lug
Re: New GTI6
Hope its just the nylon guides as they can be done without box being removed just got to hope you can re align the lever on to the clutch (pull type clutch)
Re: New GTI6
can the guides be diagnosed without removing stuff? any idea on cost of the new guides?
Re: New GTI6
few more pics. had a fiddle yesterday, clutch is stiffer than the xsi but not hugely so.
New exhaust (old one was a bit silly and welded straight to the body :S
saw this yesterday too, didn't know vauxhall made a 306:
