Cheap car wanted

I got the local garage looking to see if they can get 1 now so fingers crossed.

Sounding good what mileage has it done and any idea when cam belt was last changed.

I had a look through the history last night, 150k on the clock, belt was done at 106k. a bit of history shows a handfull of 6k services at about £200 each, imagine paying that every 6months! looks like it's been cared for.

Sounding good so far i have a choice between the 306 or a T Diesel Corsa that needs welding for mot.

I have a mechanic that is not to bad on prices for repair, at the moment he is away and i think he is back at the weekend so all i am doing now is waiting for him to get back as i never buy a car without him looking over it first.

306 all the way, it doesnt need welding and has an mot and will run rings round a corsa.

Have to agree with you Corsa is cheaper but all i would do is abuse it lol

That's good news, the difference between the 306 and the Corsa for me is i would look after the 306 but the Corsa would not be so lucky as i would just abuse it

milage is 158k, dont think its been far since mot.

Got to say it looks nice i will get hold of my mate to see when he can look over it for me and let you know i think he is back at the weekend.

I'll sort the bits i can see mate but TBH this is a good 1. was tempted to keep it, probily would have if a handn't spent so much on my phase 2. The plate might be worth a few quid too, the reg on my red 1 was N47 OWL and they recon that was valued about £500.

Are you trying to force me to buy the Corsa as its the only other car i have been offered so far

Bit more than i wanted to pay but still worth a look will need to ask my m8 how much to change the cam belt and then i have to tax it soon so it all mounts up but you get what you pay for as they say and like i said the car dose look good

twist my arm, £500, Minimum. it's easily worth £600+

Leave it with me just trying to find out when my m8 will be back and also sorting out the rear beam for the 205 my wallet is going to be empty soon i think

empty wallet is always best, saves on weight! 306 for the road and 205 for the track??

Ohh no the 205 is not going near the track i would kill it had it almost 11 years now and would prefer to keep it a bit longer

306 for every day use and 205 for shows and the odd spin in the summer sounds more like it
