Re: Boost gauge installation OEM look
right finalyl got hold of my eblow thanks to chris and all fitted and works a treat, first problem i had when fitted was the fact i had to push a button to make it take a reading but then i came across an automatic gauge which is perfect for what i wanted. now im just modifying the clocks to fit the larger housing
bit better video this is with the new gauge as you can see as soon as i come of boost it switches itself off then foot down it comes back on

Re: Boost gauge installation OEM look
not installed in the dials as of yet due to the crap weather and ive been busy with uni but as soon as im free itll be done
Re: Boost gauge installation OEM look
taken me a while but finally found a gauge that fits perfectly and is automatic probs cost me bout £60 in total messing round, sending things back destroying other ones and rebuying them etc but its now done and works(worked before i put it in dials),will install it all tomorrow and take it out for a test run, for my own curiousity ive also added a boost intake temp pipe just cause i can basically and will find somewhere to mount that if i decide to keep it,
back of clocks looks messy with wires but the bulbs wouldnt work so did some DIY soldering with bulbs lol

good work there Ben im gonna be having a look at this set up at the next meet (you come to) i may have to rob your design
Re: Boost gauge installation OEM look
Major rethink of this due to certain problems.
here is how it currently stands.......
1 step closer to finishing it,going to attempt to wire it to the car tomorrow once i find out where i put the volt reducer off Ollie
currently just papercard and cut a hole in it so it looks a bit more tidier than a broken vent, will make a "pod" according to that template now. LEDS will be behind it on the sides so itll light up during the night when i put sidelights on

1 step closer now and similar idea but it actually refreshes instantly will upload pics and video later, just need to modify the casing to fit in the vent, has built in LEDS also .
bought a digital one off ebay - not sure why i didnt think of this in the first place to be honest DOH

Re: Boost gauge installation OEM look
right had a minor change of plan with this but now its deffo back on track, currently sitting in place at the moment and the leds are not visible when its finished,i took it aaprt to see if i can make it smaller to fit the gap and i can so until then its sitting here and it works.
i know it dont look OEM at the moment and it looks similar to(cant think of his name right now) but ill still be using the vents so it will look slick (i hope lol)
just need to change my clock to a more blueish look cause my heaters shine blue also

small vid so you can see what its like....... wasnt full throttle due to traffic. has reached 17psi in full swing
Re: Boost gauge installation OEM look
Looks nice that Ben, I'd try and get something to fill the holes just underneath now to give it a finishing touch. There's a lad on CXOC who's fitted his gauge there but hasn't done a surround like yours, not as nice IMHO.
