306 XS/XSI/GTI6

Wanted one since just after a passed my test, mainly because of the overal package so now its time to look for a good one

Only real requirement is mileage, low as possible as i will probably do a fair few miles.

Not really bothered about the body as i can sort that

If anyone knows of one let me no

More details on the rallye Si?

I'm in talks to go ands have a look at a red rallye thats for sale in swansea that needs some paint

all i know about this at the moment is its red and needs and engine due to taking in water, i've asked for pics but he has said his camera not working and that he assures me the body is A1 its just the engine needs doing, so i've said im not going to comit to it at this point, if he does come up with the pics and i do go to buy it i'll put a cam belt and water pump on and see what the clutch is like before putting the replacement engine in, the car has 108k on the clock my engine has done 98k so not much in it.
Price wise providing nothing other than engine needs doing i'd be looking to sell for £1200-1500 but will have to see how much t&t left on it to which will also be a factor on price

bit more info that i've just got, its got bilstien kit on it -40mm 17" light weight white alloys of unknown make MOT'd till july no tax

Looks fixable, just doesnt look very "rallye-ish" at the moment.

What wheels did the rallyes have as standard? I hope they were blessed with some 15in or 16in steelies in the style of the 106 rallye steel

yeah i'd say thats the 1 i quite like those wheels just think they a bit too big for a 306 Rallye (they'd look good on a 306 xsi) the 306 Rallye's came with 15" cyclones like the gti

both mine have but the black 1 is an excecutive rallye which has a/c and leccy windows the old red 1 had remote c/l but not sure if that was a dealer option upgrade as that 1 also had the temp on the digital clock which rallyes dont usually have

Just seems strange that they wouldnt, i mean how would you lock the boot otherwise? On a phase 2/3 there isnt a boot lock

If you bought it, how soon would you be able to sort it out? would be very interested in the money you've said

i will be calling down at a mates tomorrow to check when he's available to go fetch it for me and see how much he's gonna charge, but i'd like to get it back so i could swap the engines between christmas and the new year, i have spare front seats from my red 1

Its probably the same as the 106 rallye, most dont come with it, but it could have been a factory option?

As you can get a 106 rallye with elec windows etc

i once had a very special GTI-6 and now its gone i really miss it
