Re: fault code reader
depends on
A how much time he has
B if he's willing to do it off books (cash) if not it will be through the books and be charged at an hourly rate iirc £28 per hour also iirc they dont charge extra for the machine like most places do
pug charge £125+vat just to read they then charge per fault removed
i'll see what he says prob wont have chance to speak to him till mon/tue though

Re: fault code reader
just rung pug they said a faultcode read is £85 plus vat but they said it might be to do with the throttle body?
Re: fault code reader
they've dropped there prices then, he defo wont be that much i can tell you that for a fact, not sure what it would be though fault reader will read it
Re: fault code reader
well can you let me know how much and wen then as i dont relly want to be driving it around with this problem
Re: fault code reader
i'll have a word with him but wont be till during the week, prob do it between christmas/new year if he can
Re: fault code reader
yeah but will still be recorded in the ecu so you will still be able to find out what it was that caused it
Re: fault code reader
Is it an OBD-II port? I have an OBD reader which will give the engine fault numbers.
Re: fault code reader
all standard pug fit from 1997 iirc so would be the same pod fitting as the 306
Re: fault code reader
yeah, exactly what i was thinking. My XSi has the port, as does the GTi-6, but on those it isn't OBD-II (not required on UK/Euro cars till 2001 sadly)
Re: fault code reader
It is mate, however i'm in brynhoffnant at the moment, so got no signal I'm guessing you want me to read your ecu.
