Project Smooth Astor
Right over the next year ill be having the following done to the car
• boot flushed
• side indicators repositioned
• delocked
not much of a smoothing project i know but i like the front badge and door handles
you all know what the car looks like so wont bother doing before pics but this is what i want it to finally look like
pics used are old so car is lower plus wheel bolt has been replaced
Side indicator repositioning
Ordered a spare one from pug so i could ruin that firstly, £4 inv VAT which is pretty good for peugeot, got some orange led blocks off ebay for bout £7 and set about combining the two of them, plastic on the new indicator has been melted in order to get a snug fit,i still need to sand down the excess plastic around the edges where it has curled over but im happy with it so far

Re: Project Smooth Astor
hopefully i can get it all wired up one side by the weekend, and set about covering the back of 1 wing up also
Re: Project Smooth Astor
Its a really good idea that and i always thought about doing it on one of mine, the only real big problem i could see would be getting them to sit flush and be perfectly in line... the other option would be to mount it behind the plastic strip and drill say 4 holes through so it looks like there are 4 LED's in place there... could look S**T but i'm sure i've seen that somewhere before.
Re: Project Smooth Astor
making it sit flush wont be a problem cause the edges of the led block are slighty curved at an angle,so i can simply touch it up with some filler to get it perfect, and in regards to the wing just drill a few holes in the bit where ill need the extra space behind it, only real way of making a hole big enough is to do little holes next to each other and then simply snap them if thatmakes sense lol
Re: Project Smooth Astor
One of my favourite 306's on the club, not overly modded but the mods you have done are nice and subtle.
Re: Project Smooth Astor
minor updates, still needs a bit me sanding down aroudn the edges to be perfect
also finally got a approx date for boot smoothing -Early Feb

Re: Project Smooth Astor
Well this is to keep me occupied till insurance say yes to the FmiC in november
Re: Project Smooth Astor
Insurance will be less than what I'm paying now come november when u move to chris knott
Re: Project Smooth Astor
primer filler added, still a bit sticky when i took the pic but hardly nay imperfections for the moment, the rough areas in the middle is where the masking tape is covering the lense
Re: Project Smooth Astor
minor imperfections so just need to smooth them over with a bit more filler and then move onto colour coding
Re: Project Smooth Astor
i now have some paint arriving off ebay (peugeot dealer) so i dont have to wait a month for my local to get the paint in stock in coventry then wait a few days to get it to bridgend.cant wait to get jsut this 1 side done
Re: Project Smooth Astor
local guy called Mat has his own company called Spraytek

Should have removed the glass first, I've got mole grips if you need them.
