rebuilt the beam today so thats now almost ready to go when the car is back

I trial fitted my brakes and 15" TD pro race 2s on a spare hub and all looks good







you may notice the lack of boltage on the caliper mount so i just use and allen key to hold in place

It all turns fine just the dist catches on the hub but i can file it out

Plenty of clearance!

Stripped the comps today

How long do you think now?

That paint finish looks very very good Si!

finish is good but there are a few marks in the paint, so i've asked martin to re do it as im not 100% happy with it, so once mike's tango machine is re done (2-3 weeks) this will be going back up for another job

in the meantime im gonna get on with fitting brakes/suspension/engine/gearbox etc etc so when it comes back it just need panels and trims re fitting and interior putting back

Gives you some kind of deadline to get certain jobs finished though which is good i guess!

yeah gonna crack on with it now, might just push for FCS as the xsi-6 is so rough

Well even if its just running standard engine at least it gives you a chance to enjoy the car

no wont have a standard lump back in it

Cracked on with the engine today

Fitted a gates timming belt kit and new water pump (forgot pic till after cover was on)





Fitted the Rich_w billet flywheel and valeo clutch



Wrapped the exhaust manifold



i then moved back on the car and started on the wiring and removed all the old syspension

looking goot will it be at fcs then?

it will if i have my way

Well spent the last week or so getting the inside re done due to the paint coming off with the masking tape after it had been left on by the body shop for 5 weeks also i wasnt happy with the depth of the black they had done so i re did myself












more pics tomorrow of the cage when the paper is off :~)

was still wet when i took the pics will take some better 1s tomorrow when the masking tape and paper off the bars

Haven't seen your blog recently. Nice to see some progress again. I too have recently started back working on my Black 106 XSi project.

That belt looks like a nightmare pulleys, tensioners everywhere I will stick with a simpler 106 engine
