ill be goin to the garage on monday for a full day to get as much done on the engine as possible paint the block up, spray the timing belt cover, flywheel, gearbox, clutch all back on. exhaust manifold off new exhaust manifold gasket to go on and refit it. aircon pump back on.

so need to order exhaust manifold gasket, tb gasket, inlet manifold gasket.

i also need a drivers wing asap so i can send all the engine bits along with the spoiler, door handles, rub stips, filler cap inserts, rear lights all off to be sprayed at the same time.

and next thing i need a a gti6 cat to go onto the car aswell once the engine is in. so a lot today for a week friday.

Bit of an update from a full day at the garage today with me and simon doing sum work on the gti6 engine.

new cambelt kit, water pump fitted.
Fly wheel fitted, new clutch kit fitted.
Entire loom and coil packs removed from engine.
New bosch super 4 spark plugs fitted
Engine block sprayed up black
exhaust manifold removed

planned jobs for next 2moro:
Spray timing belt cover
spray coil pack cover
spray various small brackets that hold the loom onto the engine
clean and maybe spray with heat industrial paint on the exhaust manifold
prep up cam covers, inlet manifold for spraying orange
remove front bumper from xsi (so im able to get car towed)

Plan for wednesday morning:
refit gti6 gearbox
fit air con pump
fit auxilary belt pulleys
fit engine mounts onto the block
paint sump silver with engine paint
fit all brackets which hold loom in place and fit loom back on
coil pack cover back on
timing belt cover back on

Get the xsi towed to the garage wednesday afternoon
remove auxillary belt and fit to gti6 engine
remove air con sensor and fuel intake sensor and fit onto gti6 engine
remove yellow top battery and put on trickle charge

and if i can get orange paint before weekend sumtime spray inlet manifold and cam covers.

so dats plan all ready for engine conversion on weekend then.!

things left to order/collect:
Gti6 cat (collect from swansea)
radiator flush
engine flush
antifreeze
engine oil
gearbox oil
oil filter
chrome cam and coil pack cover bolts
